Wallpapered Hallway, West Wight
This farmhouse had plain magnolia walls and the client felt a bolder statement could be made over the four flights of the stairwell. A modern take on a classic William Morris Acorn design was chosen, while the woodwork colour was a deep grey eggshell finish, picking up the tones of the wallpaper and creating a striking impact on every floor of the stairwell.

Earthborn clay paint was used for the ceilings

For a small vestibule a darker colour-way of the same paper was used
Wallpapered Hallway, Nettlestone
This large hallway needed a a freshen up as the dark-stained woodwork was looking dated. To brighten the space the walls were all painted in a brilliant white. The woodwork, including spindles, handrail, dado and doors required three coats of primer and two coats of water-based satin. The John Lewis wallpaper with a design of thin tree trunks was chosen for under the dado, against which the white spindles blend in and give an illusion of greater space.
